The CDBS provides eligible children aged 0–17 years with up to $1,158 to use towards a range of basic dental services over a two-year period. Eligibility is determined by Medicare and is generally linked to certain government support payments received by a parent, guardian, or the child.
When you submit your child's consent and medical information, we'll check their Medicare eligibility for you and let you know whether their appointment can be fully bulk billed.
You can also check your child's eligibility anytime through the myGov app by selecting Services > Medicare > Child Dental Benefits.
Your child's appointment will be fully bulk billed to Medicare, meaning there are no out-of-pocket costs for the services covered under the CDBS.
If your child is not eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), they can still access our mobile dental service for a flat fee of $75. An invoice will be sent before your child's appointment, with payment required prior to treatment. If we are unable to complete the appointment on the day, a full refund will be provided. Families with private health insurance may be able to claim a rebate, depending on their level of cover.
